He took his first painting courses in Corfu with Charalampos Pachis and continued his studies at the School of Fine Arts of Naples, under Vicenzo Marinelli. He taught at the Practical High School of Corfu and served as director of the island's School of Fine Arts. He was also active in music and poetry.
Portraits, genre scenes and religious themes constitute the creative production of this painter, who cultivated a type of Academic Realism, while some signs of pleinairism are also discernable in several of his landscapes.
