Doukades is an old village of Corfu, which is located in the northern part of the island, 20 kilometers northwest of the town of Corfu, at an altitude of 170 meters with approximately 700 inhabitants. Administratively it falls under the former Palaiokastritsa Municipality. The name of the settlement, according to I. Bounias, stems from its first inhabitants whose surname was "Duke". The main points of interest are the renovated stone mansion of the Theotokis family of the celebrated Greek politician Georgios Theotokis, who served as prime minister of Greece during the first decade of the 20th century, the Venetian type "sagrado" of Kouartanos, the Korragios House and the building of the elementary school which is located at the entrance of the village.
