Περίπατος στην Κέρκυρα
She grew up in Aitoliko of Messlongi. She attended the Athens School of Fine Arts, studying painting under K. Parthenis and engraving/printmaking under Yiannis Kefallinos. In November 1940, Kefallinos instructed the students of his studio to design posters of patriotic content. In January 1941, the top four of them were selected and then printed, one of them being Katraki's poster titled For the Soldiers. During her studies, she was awarded a three-month scholarship in painting, one prize and two commendations for engraving. A member of the Resistance during the Occupation, she designed and printed numerous illicit pamphlets and flyers, including the two albums From the Struggles of the Greek People (1943) and Sacrificial Altar of Freedom (1945), which contain woodcuts. Her first works are small-size woodcuts prepared for the illustration of books and fliers, featuring compositions portraying scenes from the life of the fishermen of Messolongi. In 1955, she presented her work to the public for the first time. It was around that time when she began to engrave on a new material: sandstone. Her choice of this material was predicated by the shift in her choice of themes. Expressionism, as well as the revival of traditional engraving techniques in Europe at the beginning of the century, were two significant drivers in the formation of her artistic personality. During the junta (1967-1974), she was banished for a period of time to the island of Gyaros, where she found artistic expression in shaping pebbles and painting them with black ink. After 1973, her engravings acquired emotionality; they became less angled and aggressive, and her forms regained particular personal characteristics. She presented her work in solo shows, but also took part in group exhibitions. In 1965, she became an honorary member of the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence. She was a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
